Our Team, Our Community: The Heart of How We Work

At Loyal I.T. Solutions, we know that the strength of our business comes from the people behind it - and the community around it. After more than 22 years serving the Central Coast, what has guided us most is not just our technical expertise, but our values, our team culture, and our commitment to giving back.

In a recent episode of the Business Unlocked podcast, our founder Mick Goodwin shared insights into how we’ve built a business centred around people, purpose, and trust. Here’s a closer look at what drives us and how our team and community remain at the heart of everything we do.

Built on shared values

When he started Loyal I.T., it wasn’t about chasing growth at all costs. It was a decision rooted in lifestyle - about being present for his family, creating balance, and doing good work with good people. That same intention carries through today.

Respect, honesty, loyalty and care are more than just words to us. They are values we bring to every decision, every client relationship, and every team member we welcome. We don’t just hire for skills. We look for people who align with how we work and why we do it.

A culture we live every week

Culture isn’t something we put on a poster and forget. It’s something we practise, consistently and openly.

Every Friday, we hold a team meeting where we talk through the week’s work, client feedback, challenges and wins. But more importantly, we reflect on how we’ve lived out our values. Whether it’s recognising a colleague, sharing a moment of teamwork, or discussing how we’ve supported each other - these conversations are part of how we stay connected and grounded.

Each month, we also celebrate team members who’ve gone above and beyond, with peer-nominated awards and meaningful recognition. It’s our way of showing appreciation and reinforcing that every role matters.

Community is who we are

Supporting our community has always been a part of Loyal I.T. - even before the business began. Mick and Julie met while volunteering at St Vincent de Paul, and that heart for service still flows through what we do today.

Our team is encouraged to get involved with causes they care about. They provide flexibility and time during the work week for members of the team to support charities or not-for-profits that matter to them. This is more than a team-building exercise. It’s about giving back to the community that supports us.

We talk about this openly, not for publicity, but because we believe in raising awareness and setting an example. Our hope is that others are encouraged to do the same, to build businesses that genuinely care about where they live and work.

It’s not strategy. It’s who we are.

We don’t act on values because it’s good for business. We do it because it’s how we choose to show up, as leaders, as colleagues, and as members of our community.

Our clients trust us with their systems, their data, and their operations. A trust we take very seriously. That trust is earned through consistency, care, and transparency - and it starts with the culture we’ve built inside our walls.

We’re proud of the team we’ve grown, the values we stand by, and the community we’re part of. That’s the Loyal I.T. difference.
